FLOWERS |
Fresh
Flowers do add to the beauty of our sanctuary in our Sunday morning
worship service. If you would like to place flowers in the sanctuary in
honor or in memory of someone, you may choose the florist of your
choice, however local florist, Rick Barrett of the Flower Gazebo, has
recently agreed to a set price for seasonal flowers for a very
reasonable rate of $35.00. This does not include roses or special order
flowers. Special requests are available and priced applicably. Rick may
be reached at 439-2255 and will bill you directly. The flower calendar
is in the narthex on the desk if you wish to designate a special Sunday.
All Sunday's in May are available.
What sunshine is to flowers, smiles are to humanity. They are trifles,
to be sure, but scattered along life's pathway, the good they do is
inconceivable |

UMW UPCOMING EVENTS |
|
A reminder that Mission Cards are a good way to acknowledge a birth,
death, graduation, etc. Minimum donation is 5.00 and an acknowledgement
will be forwarded to the individual.
UMW membership is open to all women of the church and is a good way to
become more involved in your church.
Thanks,
Carol
The warmth of a friend's presence brings joy
to our hearts, sunlight to our souls, and pleasure to all of life.
All women of the church are
invited and encouraged to attend our Birthday Luncheon on the fourth
Tuesday each month. Excellent time for fellowship, fun and food. Dutch
Treat. We’ll gather at Sunset Grill May 25 to celebrate May Birthdays.
Please join us!

LOCK THE DOORS |
|
Do you make sure that your doors at
home,
at
work
and in your
vehicle
are locked? Do you go back just
one more time
and
check
to be sure?
We need to practice the same vigilant door locking and checking again
and
again
at Avalon. Please
try to remember that the
very last thing you do when leaving a building, even if
you didn’t open it,
is to be sure it is
locked behind you.
Please,
Please,
help protect those who enter the
buildings after you and be
sure our doors are locked!

GOT TOOLS???? LADDER??? STEP STOOL??? ETC. |
 |
 |
Many items that our custodians occasionally need are not readily
available or are not in good working order if we have them at
all. If you have any hand tools or power tools, in usable
condition that you no longer need or use, please consider a
donation before you do away with them. They will be greatly
appreciated. You may contact Gloria in the office, and we will
coordinate acceptance of the items or make arrangements to have
them picked up if needed |

| TAPE

| |
  |
|
|
Tapes and CD’s are made of the 11AM service and provided to
shut-ins
and others
as requested. If you receive
a tape
and wish to return it after listening, the tapes are
recycled for someone else’s use. There is a master tape of
the AM service
(each service) kept at the church. Donations to this ministry
are appreciated. Any questions see or call
Leon Perrett

Lost, Misplaced, or Just Forgotten?????
We may have it!
Over the past several months, several items have been turned
into the office; costume jewelry, pieces of clothing, caps, cell
phone, etc. Now we
even have a sport coat. If you think any of this may be yours,
please stop by the office so we can check it out for you.

THE FLOWER CALENDAR
Is in the narthex if
you wish to place flowers in the sanctuary.
Remember you are
responsible for ordering your flowers.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL: SADDLE RIDGE RANCH
Monday, June 14th- Friday, June 18th 8am-12pm
Don’t miss out on being a part of VBS this summer where we will
be roundin’ up questions and drivin’ home answers. This year we
will focus on questions real kids ask: "Who am I? Does God care
about me? What is God’s plan for me? How can I be like Jesus?
What do I do now?" It is going to be an amazing time as we
follow the adventures of four young cowboys and cowgirls and
their wrangler friend, Jed, as they discover that the best
adventure is more than riding horses or looking for rattlers –
it’s about discovering Jesus who wants to be the Lord of their
lives.
James 1:5 – "Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God,
who gives to all generously and without criticizing, and it will
be given to him"
We are still in need of adult volunteers to help with teaching a
class, recreation and crafts. If you have not signed up to help,
contact Tim today for your opportunity to serve.
STUDENT MINISTRY ATLANTA BRAVES TRIP

Student Ministry trip to see the Atlanta Braves vs. the Tampa
Bay Rays. The cost is $25 which will cover your ticket and

STUDENT MINISTRY SUMMER CAMP: RE
Monday, July 12th- Friday, July 16th
Cost: $300 ($50 deposit due when you sign up)
Daytona Beach, FL.
In Micah 6:8 we find the prophet calling the nation of
Israel to Reflect the character of God in Response to His
faithfulness in their lives. They were being called to Return to
Him and Repent of all the times they hadn’t trusted Him and
tried to do things on their own. He had Revealed to them Himself
what their lives were supposed to look like and the things they
were supposed to do. Rectify. Respect. Resign. Rejoice. Reduce.
Represent. It’s time for us to listen to Micah’s words for
ourselves and Reply with our lives. With worship led by Louie
Giglio and Chris Tomlin, you do not want to miss out on this
incredible week. The cost of the trip is $300. Sign up ends May
7th.
STUDENT MINISTRY SUMMER CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS
We currently have students in need of scholarships for
our Summer Camp. This is a radically life changing event for our
Student Ministry and we want to be sure that we leave no student
behind that has a desire to attend. If you would be interested
in investing in a student’s life to offer them the chance to go
to camp, please contact Tim to discuss this incredible
opportunity
If you have any questions or would like to help out in the
Student Ministry in any way, feel free to give me a call or
e-mail me. Thank you for all of your prayers. With YOUth in Mind, Tim Dix (229) 291-3706
