Avalon’s morning worship service would be most accurately
labeled “traditional,” with a contemporary leaning.
We sing hymns from the United Methodist Hymnal, but also
include a couple of contemporary praise songs. The choir wears choir robes (most of the year), but the
pastor dresses in a business suit.
Committee seeks to create a visual display each week to enhance
the theme of the day.
This has included paintings, flowers, a mirror, road
signs, and other appropriate items.

first Sunday morning worship service.
You need not be a certain age, an Avalon member, or a
Methodist to participate. We believe communion is for those “who
earnestly repent of their sin and seek to live in peace with one
